Alan has more than 25 years’ experience in administrative law and dispute resolution with a particular emphasis on planning and local government law.

He is an experienced advocate with experience in a wide range of courts and tribunals including the NSW Land and Environment Court, the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunals. 

Alan lectures in Environmental Landuse and Sustainability Law at the Australian National University and his expertise in planning and environmental law has recently been recognised by his inclusion in the Australian Financial Review’s List of Australia’s Best Lawyers (2010 and 2011) and in Lloyd’s List of Australia’s Top 25 Planning and Environmental Lawyers (2011).
