Mark Love is a founding partner of Williams Love & Nicol, where his practice concentrates on areas of corporate governance, contract and commercial law, intellectual property, insolvency matters and native title. Mark is a NSW Law Society accredited specialist in business law, and counsels a broad range of ACT based businesses, as well as national and international clients. He acts not only as general counsel but also as a strategic business advisor for numerous clients. His clients include a diverse array of businesses, including accountancy firms, software and technology developers, corporate retailers, government agencies, and many others.
Mark is an experienced practitioner in the area of commercialising and protecting intellectual property rights, particularly in the areas of trade practices, copyright, trademark and know-how, and in development, publishing and implementation contracting. He also has extensive experience advising upon all aspects of corporate insolvency.
For over ten years Mark has been a lecturer in the Diploma Course offered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors, lecturing in Directors’ Duties and Responsibilities, Intellectual Property and Contracts. Mark has also been active in supporting the Canberra Community, being a Founder of Revolve Limited, the community based waste recycling company holding salvage rights at Canberra tip faces and having founded CREEDA, which owned and ran the Canberra Business Incubators at Downer, Narrabundah and Erindale. Mark is presently a trustee of the Exhibition Park In Canberra Trust.
Prior to serving as Partner in Williams Love & Nicol, Mark spent seven years as a Partner with Corrs Chambers Westgarth. He founded the firm Williams Love in 2001, before merging with the Canberra office of Norton White in 2004 to form Williams Love & Nicol.
